Differently-abled get age relaxation in Central Government jobs
Now, differently-abled people can get age relaxation of ten years in central government jobs as per the new rules of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). These new rules are formed by DoPT on Monday. The relaxation is permissible to visually challenged, hearing impaired and the people that are suffering from cerebral palsy or locomotor disability.
It is 15 years in case of people that belong to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories and 13 years for those who come under Other Backward Class.
It is also stated that the age relaxation is applicable to differently-abled people even though it is not reserved for them, but identified suitable for the people of the applicable category of disability.
Yet, the relaxation is applicable only when the applicant is below the age of 56 years. And the applicant should have at least 40% disability. Moreover, the provision will not be applicable to civil service examination unless otherwise notified that the posts are identified suitable for differently-abled people separately.
Earlier, it was five years relaxation in the upper age limit, and 10 years for people belong to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories and eight years for those who come under Other Backward Class.
