Delhi launches online registration for e-auto permits | Fusion - WeRIndia

To curb environmental pollution, the Delhi government is taking various measures. Encouraging the usage of electric vehicles is one of them. In this regard, the Delhi government launched online registration for e-auto permits today. The government reserved 33 per cent for women among these permits.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Twitter said that the Delhi government is taking steps to make the city pollution-free and promote electric vehicles in the national capital. E-auto permits are one of the significant steps for this.

E-auto permits are issued phase-wise. In the first phase, 4,261 e-auto permits are issued, and out of them, 1,406 are reserved for women. The minister said that all eligible applicants can apply through the transport department’s website.

The Delhi government provides loans to required individuals to purchase e-autos. Those who need it can get financial assistance of ₹30,000 from the government. The Delhi government empanelled some agencies. If the loan is obtained through these agencies, a five per cent interest rebate will be provided on loans.

Any resident of Delhi having a Delhi address and valid driving licence of a light motor vehicle can apply for an e-auto permit along with his/her Aadhaar number.

Though a public service vehicle badge is not essential to apply for the permit, all applicants need to get the badge within 45 days of the draw of permit allotment. Interested individuals should apply for the permit before November 1.

The government also decided to organize an E-auto Mela next week. The Mela will be organized at IDTR Sarai Kale Khan and Loni between October 24 and 31. Those who want to buy e-autos can visit the Mela and explore different e-auto models there. They can also get all other required information there, including loans.
