Afzal Guru’s son wants Passport

Ghalib Guru, the son of Afzal Guru received his Aadhaar card in India. Afzal Guru was the convict for the execution of Parliament attack. He was hanged and buried in Tihar jail on February 9, 2013.

Before he was hanged, Afzal’s wife Tabasum and son Ghalib sought pardon for him by meeting the former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, and Afzal’s mercy petition was rejected by the President at that time, Pranab Mukherjee.

Ghalib Guru was just two-years-old when his father was arrested for his planning of an attack on Parliament.

He passed his higher secondary school exams with good marks around five years after his father was hanged to death.

Ghalib had secured 474 marks out of 500 in the Class 10 exams conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board and achieved an A1 grade with 95 per cent and made the news.

Ghalib also scored 88.2 per cent (441) marks in his Class XII board exams. He wants to become a doctor as his father could not complete his degree even though he had enrolled at a medical college in Jammu and Kashmir.

Ghalib is also preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET.

He had appealed for the passport to avail international medical scholarship.

In a video of ANI, Ghalib said that he has bagged a scholarship in a medical school in Turkey. In order to use that scholarship, he needs Indian passport.

He already has an Aadhaar card, and if India gives him a passport, he would be a proud Indian.

Becoming a doctor is not just his dream, but his entire family’s dream, he says. He wishes he could be heard to get a passport soon to pursue medicine.
