Monthly income plans or MIPs enable the investors to get a fixed monthly income. As they provide regular income many investors are interested to invest in them. However, the only thing that is lacked with these investments is that they cannot assure fixed returns like bank deposits. Certain Monthly income plans are considered as the best investments. Here are some of them.

Reliance MIP

Last year, this fund generated 23 percent returns. The major assets of this fund are invested in government securities with some being exposed to shares like ICICI bank and HDFC bank. A monthly dividend of Rs.0.05098 was declared on December 22.

Franklin India MIP


This fund has yielded 22 percent returns in the last year. Bulk of the assets of this fund are invested in government securities with some exposure to equities for optimum returns. It is ideal for investors who seek regular income. The present NAV of Franklin India fund for monthly dividend is nearly Rs.14.

Canara Robeco MIP

Canara Robeco MIP has generated nearly 20 percent return in the last year. The majority of assets of this fund are invested in government securities with small amount being exposed to shares of ICICI Bank and L&T. The last dividend issued by the company was Rs.0.0726 which was declared on December 26.

IDFC MIP

The last year returns of this fund is 20 percent. Like all other funds, bulk of the assets are deployed in government securities with some exposure to equities of State Bank of India, Infosys and FAG Bearings.

Birla Sun Life MIP

Birla Sun Life MIP is a good investment fund as majority of the assets of the fund are invested in government dated securities and some are exposed to equities. Thus the fund assures good returns on it. The fund has achieved a good return of approximately 19 percent in the last year. Since its launch, it generated returns equal to almost 9.5 percent. The minimum amount that can be invested by SIP in this fund is Rs.1000.

SBI Magnum MIP – Floater

The returns of this fund in the last year is 17 percent. The bulk of the assets of this funds are exposed to certificates of deposits of Oriental Bank of Commerce, UCO Bank and Vijaya Bank with some being exposed to shares of HPCL, Maruti Suzuki and NRB Bearings.
