The recruitment includes both general and backlog vacancies in various categories.

These positions are vital for the efficient functioning of NIT Silchar’s administrative and technical operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day management, academic support, and infrastructure maintenance.

Each post requires specific educational qualifications and, where applicable, work experience as outlined in the official advertisement.

The upper age limit varies from 27 years (for Junior Assistants and Technicians) to 56 years (for Registrar and Librarian).

Government-mandated age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories.

Salaries range according to the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, offering competitive pay:

  • Level 14: Registrar, Librarian
  • Level 10: Assistant Registrar, Hindi Officer
  • Level 06: Superintendent, Junior Hindi Translator
  • Level 04: Senior Technician
  • Level 03: Technician, Junior Assistant

This makes the positions highly attractive in terms of financial stability and career growth.

The online application process for NIT Silchar’s non-teaching recruitment began on April 1, 2024, and will remain open until May 23, 2025. Candidates are advised to complete their application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

Applicants must submit the prescribed application fee online as part of the registration process.

The fee structure is as follows:

  • UR/OBC/EWS candidates: ₹1500 per post
  • SC/ST/PwD candidates: ₹750 per post

The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid separately for each post applied for.

Candidates applying for multiple positions will need to pay the fee for each post individually, based on their category. For example, if applying for two posts, the fee will be the sum of both.

These charges cover processing and examination-related expenses and are mandatory for the completion of the online application process.

Early submission is strongly recommended to ensure successful payment and registration within the given timeframe.
