CUPB faculty recruitment 2026: Key details you should know
The Central University of Punjab has announced its Faculty Recruitment 2026, opening doors for aspiring academicians across disciplines.
Released on April 4, 2026, the notification invites applications for 21 regular teaching positions.
The recruitment covers posts of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria defined under the UGC Regulations 2018 and the relevant statutory bodies.
Moreover, the application process is fully online and will remain open until April 27, 2026.
In terms of pay, Professors will receive a starting salary of ₹1,44,200 under Level 14.
Meanwhile, Associate Professors will earn ₹1,31,400, and Assistant Professors ₹57,700 as per the 7th Pay Commission. Therefore, the positions offer both stability and competitive compensation.
The vacancies span multiple departments, including Applied Agriculture, Chemistry, Psychology, Sociology, Artificial Intelligence, and Fine Arts.
Additionally, reservations apply as per Government of India norms, ensuring inclusive opportunities for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD candidates.
Applicants must possess a strong academic background, typically with at least 55% marks at the postgraduate level.
Furthermore, relevant teaching or research experience is essential for higher positions. The upper age limit for regular appointments is 64 years.
The selection process involves shortlisting based on Academic Performance Indicator (API) scores.
Subsequently, shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews, presentations, or seminars. In some cases, interviews may be conducted online.
To apply, candidates need to register on the official portal and submit separate applications for each post.
They must also upload necessary documents, including certificates, experience proof, and category credentials. Importantly, incomplete applications or missing documents will lead to rejection.
The application fee is ₹750 per post for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, PwD, and women applicants are exempted. However, the fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
