Delhi to open more Mohalla Clinics
Mohalla clinics provide basic healthcare to citizens. More than 500 mohalla clinics are there in the national capital region to provide free primary healthcare services to Delhiites. There is a doctor and nurse to offer treatment to patients.
Around 212 different types of tests are available at these clinics. These diagnostic services are free to patients. Patients can also get medicines free of cost. They offer treatment to over 60,000 people daily.
Now, the Delhi government decided to open 100 more mohalla clinics across the city. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced that the government decided to open more mohalla clinics in the city soon. Preparations are going on to establish these clinics, which will be completed soon.
The Deputy CM also said that the Kejriwal government decided to expand the number of mohalla clinics in Delhi to offer treatment to more people. He added that these clinics are the first point to detect any type of disease that affects the city. He said that the Delhi government is also working on digitising these clinics.
Tablets are given to the staff for digitisation to ease the treatment process of patients at these clinics with a single click. Digitisation of the medical histories of patients enables doctors to diagnose them and treat them simply.
In addition to that, the data can be used to assess the disease of people that affects them in future. It is also useful for the government to develop health-related policies. While several mohalla clinics have been completely digitised, only a few have to be finished.
The Delhi government is taking innovative initiatives for the residents. Last year, the government came up with the idea of constructing mohalla clinics inside portable shipping containers. The government also plans to set up more such clinics in densely populated areas.
This innovative solution helps the Kejriwal government overcome the problem of land to establish the mohalla clinic.
