Delhi government extends two hours for driving tests
To help more people avail the facility of driving tests, the Delhi government decided to extend the time for driving tests from April 30.
Notably, the Delhi Transport Department received feedback from several applicants requesting to extend the time for driving tests. Since the test slots were coinciding with their working timings, many of them could not avail their scheduled time for a driving test.
In this context, the transport department announced the extension of test time for two hours from April 30.
As per the order issued by the department, the appointment schedule would be available for the driving test from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This facility is available at automated test tracks at Mayur Vihar, Vishwas Nagar, and Shakur Pur.
Concerned officials have been asked to make necessary arrangements to conduct driving tests in the evening hours. They are also asked to keep their employees available till 8 p.m. for the tests.
The order stated that the district transport officers would carry out random checks of skill-testing to ensure that the tests are compliant with Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989 and provisions.
In another incident, the Madhya Pradesh government announced ₹900 per month for rearing indigenous cows. The state government last week announced it during a workshop on agriculture.
As rearing indigenous (Desi) cows are essential for natural farming, the government encourages farmers in this direction by providing ₹900 per month. Farmers who rear Desi cows will get ₹10,800 per annum.
In addition to that, the state government will start numerous activities to promote natural farming in around 5,200 villages across the state.
These activities will start in the Kharif season. More than 1.5 lakh farmers showed interest in natural farming. To encourage more farmers, the government will soon organize workshops on the importance of natural farming.
