Man files a complaint against Covishield manufacturer | Fusion - WeRIndia

People across the globe are getting vaccinated to protect against COVID-19. The governments and vaccine manufacturers are also giving supporting statements for this. In this context, many people believe that they will get antibodies after a stipulated time receiving the vaccine to fight against the novel coronavirus. But not all people may develop antibodies.

Here is an incident where a man from Lucknow filed a complaint against the Covishield vaccine manufacturer and government officials.

Pratap Chandra from Lucknow received his first dose of Covishield on April 8. As per the initial instructions, he was supposed to receive the second dose after 28 days. But, the government revised the interval between two doses of Covishield to 12 weeks.

Meanwhile, Chandra fell ill after receiving the first dose of the vaccine. He tested for antibodies. The test result revealed that he did not develop any antibodies against COVID-19, but his platelets were reduced to 1.5 lakhs from 3 lakhs.

Hence, he filed a complaint at Aashiana police station in Lucknow against Adar Poonawall, the CEO of Serum Institute of India. Chandra alleged that he did not develop any antibodies against COVID-19 even after taking the first jab of Covishield. He also complained against Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, Balaram Bhargava, Director General of ICMR, and Aparna Upadhyay, National Health Mission Director.

Chandra said that he did not develop antibodies as said by the vaccine manufacturer and government officials. Besides, his platelets were dropped to half, which increases his risk of getting COVID-19.

The police, though registered his complaint, did not file an FIR. They are waiting for confirmation from higher officials to take further action in this case as it is a sensitive issue.

However, Chandra said if the police do not file the FIR, he will move the matter to court.
