Fake food shops on Swiggy and Zomato
Most millennials prefer to order food online and eat at home comfortably without waiting at the restaurants for hours.
Especially on the special days like New Year’s day and family get together events, many people are opting for home delivery rather than going to restaurants.
However, to the shock of customers, fake food shops are rising on online food delivery platforms like Swiggy and Zomato.
There are certain instances where customers ended up getting vexed of waiting for their mouthwatering recipes due to these fake and invisible shops.
For example, one girl in Noida ordered a Black Forest cake on the eve of New Year. She chose a nearby shop and selected her favourite cake. After an hour, she received a call from Swiggy executive saying that he did not find the shop in the map directed to him due to which he could not bring the order.
After that, the family received a call from a senior executive saying that four or five riders went on searching for the cake shop, but could not locate it; hence he requested the family to cancel the order.
But, this was not the first time for the family to have such a bad experience. Around two months ago, the family ordered dinner from a restaurant and after some time, the family was asked to cancel their order as the delivery boys found that the restaurant was not operational.
The irked family questioned how the order was placed if the restaurant was closed.
The customers of Zomato also complained that they chose a restaurant on Zomato to have dinner.
When they reached the location, they did not find it and the neighbouring shop-owner said that the restaurant had shut operations some time ago.
The fake shops on these platforms distress users and became a nuisance for them. They want to take the necessary action to improve their satisfaction.
