Ways to uninstall Windows 10 built-in applications
Now, most of the people use Windows 10 on their PCs and laptops. Windows 10 has many built-in apps like Xbox, News, Phone Companion, Groove Music, People, Maps etc.
Most of the apps are normally useful. Some of the apps are beneficial for the operating system while others help in some other functions.
Though they do not occupy much space, some people might not like a few apps. If you want, you can uninstall them.
You can remove them from your operating system with simple methods.
Remember that some apps like Microsoft Edge, Cortana, Windows Feedback etc. cannot be uninstalled.
These are permanent built-in apps and essential for the operating system. So, you cannot uninstall or remove them.
You can uninstall other apps.
You cannot uninstall the apps from the control panel, but there are certain other methods to do so.
Do not depend on any third-party tool for this as you can uninstall with simple methods.
Uninstalling the apps from the dropdown menu is one of the simplest methods. Type the app that you want to uninstall in the start menu. Select Uninstall using right-click.
Utilising Powershell is another method to uninstall built-in apps. Type Powershell in the search bar and select ‘Run as Administrator’.
Type ‘Get-AppxPackage | ft Name, PackageFullName -AutoSize’. This helps to see all the installed apps of all the current users.
However, if you want to remove a particular app, then type Get-AppxPackage *app name* | Remove-AppxPackage.
For instance, if you want to uninstall Maps, then type, Get-AppxPackage *windowsmaps* | Remove-AppxPackage.
Wait for a while for the app to be removed by Windows.
In this way, you can uninstall the built-in apps from Windows 10.
