#1 YouTuber Pewdiepie raises 1.6 crore for Indian children
Anyone who is familiar with the on goings of the internet might know the so-called “war” for the #1 YouTuber spot. Pewdiepie, a Swedish YouTuber has been the #1 most subscribed YouTuber for almost five years. However, the channel of T-series from the Bollywood industry is catching up at a fast rate.
Many people thought that T-series would take over the #1 spot but Pewdiepie still remains at the top spot as of now.
While Pewdiepie whose real name is Felix Kjellberg has repeatedly stated that this whole “war” is just for fun and that he doesn’t really care about the #1 spot, a small vocal minority of fans from both sides have started flaming each other.
Talking about some of the racist comments, Pewdiepie stated that he finds them distasteful and urged everyone to not do it.
He said that this whole “war” joke has gotten him more attention than ever and he wanted to use that for good instead of creating hate.
So he asked his “9-year-old bro army” to help raise funds for a charity called “CRY” which stands for Children’s Rights and You. The charity helps child labourers in India and gets them free.
Pewdiepie asked his fans to use their power to do good and within a day or so, they have raised about ₹1.6 crores.
Despite all that is said and done, actions speak louder than words. Pewdiepie is known to make satirical content mocking all countries including his own.
However, the image has been painted that he somehow hates India. He has many times said that he has no such feelings and mocked only silly things like Indian soap operas from every country.
Pewdiepie may lose his spot, but his fans have something to still be happy about. He will still be the #1 most subscribed YouTuber as an individual and not a business.
