              Do you know who is ruling YouTube? Do you think it is Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber? No, it is T-series.
While Taylor Swift has racked up with over 15 billion views, Justin Bieber beats with 18 billion views on YouTube.
However, none of them are even close to T-series.
T-Series is an Indian music label and film production company. Its videos have been viewed 53 billion times. Thus, it has become the most watched YouTube channel in the world.
It gains more than 100,000 subscribers a day and is going to become the most subscribed channel on YouTube.
T-Series was founded by Gulshan Kumar, a fruit-juice seller in the early 1980s. It began its operations as a cassette tapes selling company.
It rose to producing film music to several Bollywood blockbusters by 90s.
Later, it started posting trailers and music videos from its catalog on YouTube by 2010.
As Indian audience is rapidly growing, so are the viewers for T-Series.
This is because nearly 85 percent of Indians use internet for YouTube.
Even illiterates can enjoy watching the videos, hence, the viewership for T-Series is increasing.
Thanks to Reliance Jio which made internet affordable to millions of Indian users with which several people are benefitted.
And T-Series was the first beneficiary among them. Before the launch of Jio, T-Series has 12 million subscribers and it was regularly producing dozens of videos each month for them.
But within a year of Jio’s launch, the number of subscribers doubled.
Currently, T-Series channel has 70 million subscribers. With this channel alone, the company is earning millions of dollars a year.
However, Pewdiepie still remains the most subscribed channel as of now. While T-series is a big corporation with thousands of employees sharing content from many different movies, Pewdiepie is one man who has consistently maintained his top 1 position. It certainly poses an interesting conundrum to see a big corporation take over YouTube even if it is from India.
India is the second-most populous country in the world, with more than 1.35 billion people. Yet, only 34 percent of the country is online compared to 89 percent of Americans as per Bain & Co.
The number of Indians who use internet will be increased with the development of infrastructure, says analysts.
