Events at National Gandhi Museum
Today is Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Several states and even the central government are conducting various programs in memory of the Father of our Nation.
In order to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, several programs will be held at the National Gandhi Museum in New Delhi.
The series of events will start from October 1 onwards and will be held around a year.
A photo exhibition had been held on the theme of ‘Non-violence and World Peace’ yesterday.
A digital kit is being sold for ₹300 in order to improve the youth awareness on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. This kit contains both the audio and video footages from Gandhi’s life.
The kit in a pen drive has six components. Some books, few of which were written by Gandhiji himself, and remaining were by others on him, a documentary film A K Chettiar, specially curated 100 pictures, Gandhiji’s voice and his favorite bhajans, and a virtual tour of his ashram.
The kit also includes the AK Chettiar’s documentary ‘Mahatma Gandhi: 20th Century Prophet’. It covers the visit of Gopal Krishna Gokhale to South Africa in 1912.
Other key things like Quit India Movement and speeches of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Subhas Chandra Bose are also inclued.
The photographs of Gandhi starting from his birth to his memorial at Rajghat, his early life, his London visit and stay at South Africa, important freedom movements with different famous leaders are also part of this kit.
Video clips are also there. In addition to that, photographs are in the form of a power point presentation.
The kit is available both in Hindi and English languages. The organizers are seeking the sponsors to reduce the price of the kit to ₹100 so that more people can buy it.
