Indian-American scientists who received PECASE
The Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) is the highest honour of awards given by the American government to people who are in the early stages of their research career.
It is among one of the topmost awards in the field of research.
Out of the 102 people who received the honour of this award, there are four Indian American Scientists and researchers.
When the awards were announced, US President Barack Obama said that due to these inventors, the technology and scientific advancements of the United States is top-notch.
These awards first began in the year 1996 when Bill Clinton was the president of the United States of America.
Here are the Indian winners of the award.
Kaushik Chowdhury
Kaushik Chowdhury works on the latest trending concepts like the Internet of Things (IoT) which is used to connect everyday objects to the internet.
For his work, he has received an NSF CAREER award in the past.
He works as the Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Northeastern University and Faculty Fellow of the College of Engineering.
He is also known for this work on energy harvesting sensors.
Aradhna Tripati
Aradhna Tripati works in the field of Geology, Tectonics, Geochemistry, and Geobiology. She works as an Associate Professor at UCLA.
Pankaj Lal
Pankaj Lal has received many honours and awards for his work. He is the assistant professor of Earth and Environmental Studies at Montclair University.
For his work in developing sustainable bioenergy solutions, he even received the honourable $450,000 Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) grant from the National Science Foundation.
Manish Arora
Manish Arora’s work in studying outcomes of autism and neurodevelopment has played a crucial part in the field.
He works as the Associate Professor of Dentistry and Associate Professor of Environmental Medicine and Public Health at Icahn School of Medicine.
