NATASHA , TALASHA, SANTOSH Goa’s Twinkling stars at Asian Games
Indian selectors reposed faith in Goa’s tennis star Natasha Palha. She will be accompanying the women’s team and could secure the opportunity of playing doubles with Sania Mirza. Being selected for the Asian Games is a great boost for the 20-year-old, who has won herself a place in the Indian team, making Goa proud.
Being India’s No 3, she is a Dempo brand ambassador who is practicing on taking her game a notch or two higher after being selected for the Asian Games. The player who is currently ranked at 502 in the world, says, “To survive and do well in sports you need a lot of support and backing for which I thank Shrinivas Dempo, who is also to be credited for my success.”
She is now being keenly followed by Goans who have seen the star achieve heights in the sport through sheer hard work and determination.
Natasha began 2014 with a bang and since then has been cruising victories this year, winning the national title. Her results speak it all for her capabilities; she climbed three ranks higher to third position in a matter of weeks.
Natasha is overjoyed on being selected to represent India at the Asian Games. “It was from the beginning of this year that I wanted to be a part of the Asian Games squad. It’s a very proud moment for me and my family. I am happy that all my hard work has paid off and I am now focused on performing in Korea in September.”
