Akanksha Singh: Breaking barriers with determination

Akanksha Singh is an 18-year-old from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh.

She has inspired millions by securing a perfect 720/720 in NEET-UG 2020.

She is the first woman from Purvanchal to achieve this remarkable feat.

Born in a small village, Akanksha’s journey to success was far from easy. Her unwavering determination and hard work helped her overcome challenges.

Her father, Rajendra Kumar Rao is a retired IAF officer. Her mother, Ruchi Singh is a primary school teacher. Her parents played a vital role in supporting her dreams.

Akanksha excelled academically from an early age. She scored an impressive 97.6% in her Class 10 exams at Navjeevan Mission School, Kushinagar.

Later, she secured 96.4% in Class 12 from Pragati Public School, New Delhi.

To prepare for NEET, Akanksha began studying earnestly in Class 10. Her daily routine involved travelling 70 km to Gorakhpur for coaching, a commitment that consumed four hours daily.

Despite the hardships, she remained focused on her goal of becoming a doctor and joining AIIMS.

After Class 10, Akanksha moved to Delhi to pursue higher secondary education and joined Aakash Institute for coaching.

She dedicated 10-12 hours daily to her studies, balancing school and rigorous preparation.

Her relentless efforts culminated in her record-breaking achievement.

Akanksha stated that she had always dreamed of becoming a doctor. Despite having no big coaching centres in her hometown, she was determined to make it happen.

Her story showcases the power of perseverance, dedication, and hard work.
