Loud explosion near CRPF school in Delhi

A loud explosion near a CRPF school in the Rohini area of New Delhi on Sunday caused significant damage to nearby shops and structures, raising immediate concerns about public safety.

The explosion, which occurred in the Prashant Vihar locality, has drawn the attention of several key security agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and local police forces.

Thankfully, no casualties or injuries have been reported at this time.

Visual footage from the scene captured the chaos, with plumes of smoke rising near the school.

The force of the explosion shattered the windows of vehicles parked nearby, and shop hoardings were scattered across the streets due to the blast’s impact.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud bang and seeing smoke that lingered for several minutes.

Some witnesses speculated that the explosion might have been caused by a cylinder blast or a building collapse.

A white powder-like substance was found near the wall of the school, heightening concerns that the explosion may not have been accidental. The entire area has since been sealed off by police, and sniffer dogs have been deployed to gather any remaining evidence.

The NIA, along with National Security Guard (NSG) commandos, arrived at the scene to investigate whether there were any links to terrorism.

The authorities are also scanning social media platforms like Telegram, as such channels have been used for communication in previous terror plots.

In addition to the NIA and NSG, a Forensic Science Laboratory team is working on-site to collect samples and determine the cause of the explosion.

Though initial sources speculated that a cylinder blast may have been the cause, the exact reason behind the explosion is yet to be confirmed.

The damage to nearby shops and the shock felt by locals have added urgency to the investigation.

An FIR has been registered under the Explosives Act, and police are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to piece together the sequence of events.

Investigators are focused on determining the true cause of the blast and ensuring there are no further risks to public safety.

As the probe continues, Delhi remains on high alert, with security forces ensuring tight surveillance around the affected area.
