Woman travelling across country to spread awareness on breast cancer | Fusion - WeRIndia

Have you heard the tale of Ritu Biyani? A woman who suffered with breast cancer and then took it on herself and made a life mission to spread awareness it all over rural and urban India.

Ritu was a survivor of breast cancer in the year 2006. After her fierce battle, she launched High>>>Ways Beyond Cancer, a unique drive which linked adventure sports with cancer awareness across the country.

This was a first of its kind project in India. When asked about future plans she stated that: “Well, at present workshops are being conducted in companies, schools, MBA colleges, hospitals and army camps. In 2010, they had their initial International awareness workshop, and for the present they are focusing about additional cancer drive across the nation and internationally”.

She added that their journey was sponsored by a company but they normally raise funds for projects from people. She says, if they are passionate about a mission, everyone supports them. “So I have got immense support from my family, and wherever I have been, I have received amazing support from the natives and army”.
