Father-Daughter Ride by Harley-Davidson India
October 11th is declared as the International Day of the Girl Child by the United Nations two years ago. It is meant to increase awareness on girls’ issues throughout the world. The 3rd International Day of the Girl Child was celebrated on October 11, 2014. This year’s theme is Empowering Adolescent Girls: Ending the Cycle of Violence. Many activists and organizations have conducted programmes on this occasion.
On this occasion, Harley-Davidson India organized a father-daughter bike ride campaign in association with the Bindi Project – a non-profit organization. In this campaign, many Harley bike owners throughout the country rode their bikes with their daughters in part of celebrations. By doing this, they aimed to spread the message that daughters deserve love and respect and promoted positive inspiration that their daughters live in a world free from all forms of violence and discrimination. They expressed that it is a good initiative for girl children and that they enjoyed the ride along with their daughters. Furthermore, they signed the Bindi project pledge to support all their children alike.
