October Pumpkin Co., a home fragrance brand founded by Rinchon Kashung, represents resilience, creativity, and a commitment to sustainability.

From its humble beginnings to becoming a sought-after name in premium scented candles, the brand’s journey reflects the determination of its founder to turn a passion into a purposeful enterprise.

Rinchon’s love for crafting candles emerged from her deep connection to memories of her childhood in Manipur.

The name October Pumpkin Co. combines her birth month with her fondness for pumpkins, a staple of her family’s cuisine that evokes warmth and nostalgia.

Initially, making candles was a personal project, but it soon evolved into something much bigger.

In 2019, Rinchon launched the brand with a vision to create premium, eco-friendly candles that blend quality, aesthetics, and affordability.

Each candle is crafted using 100% domestically sourced soy wax and features Longpi black pottery jars, handcrafted by artisans from Longpi village in Manipur.

These jars, made using traditional methods with Serpentine stone powder, underline October Pumpkin Co.’s commitment to sustainability and preserving local craftsmanship.

The turning point came when Rinchon was selected for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs Program in India, supported by the U.S. Consulate Kolkata and Asian Confluence.

Her participation in this boot camp refined her business acumen, making her one of the top ten performers.

She also joined Nexus ACIR’s pre-incubation program at the American Center Delhi, which further enhanced her entrepreneurial skills.

Today, October Pumpkin Co. stands out for its unique approach to home fragrances.

The company’s products create soothing environments. Besides, they also contribute to a sustainable ecosystem by supporting local artisans and minimizing environmental impact.

Rinchon’s journey showcases how a personal passion, paired with determination and community support, can grow into a meaningful venture.

Her goal remains to give back to society while continuing to create fragrances that bring comfort, joy, and beautiful memories to homes.
