Library on Wheels in Jharkhand
Library on Wheels is the novel idea of Jharkhand Bal Bhavan in association with Jharkhand government arranged for government school children and slum children. The motive behind this library is to support at least 100 students by providing educational material to them on a monthly basis. The mobile library consists of 500 books and CDs of adventurous stories and science fiction in addition to a TV and DVD Player. The cost of this mobile library is around Rs. 6 lakhs which was jointly funded by Jharkhand Bal Bhavan and the state government of Jharkhand.
Children can not only read the books but also understand their lessons easily using audio and video facilities. In the initial stage, the mobile library is intended to stop and distribute books to children. Later, it will be parked for an hour in front of government schools where there are no libraries or very few books. Children can also learn clay modelling, painting etc. which will be taught by the teachers in bus.
