The main idol was installed nearly five centuries ago by Swami Haridas Giri and was brought directly from Pandharpur.

Meanwhile, the gopuram design resembles the famous Puri Jagannath temple, adding architectural elegance to the site.

Cultural traditions thrive within the temple. Various Alangarams decorate the deity on different days, while Raja Alangaram appears during festivals.

These celebrations bring colour and devotion together, creating a vibrant yet serene experience. As part of the Dakshina Yatra, the temple remains a treasured stop for pilgrims, although it is still relatively unknown to urban crowds.

Visitor comfort receives equal attention at the temple. The premises include ample parking, clean restrooms, and nearby flower and photo shops.

A small food court serves simple meals at affordable prices, making the visit convenient for families and elderly devotees.

Reaching the Thennangur Panduranga Temple is easy. Chennai International Airport lies about 90 kilometres away, while Kanchipuram railway station is around 35 kilometres from the temple.

Regular buses operate from Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Vandavasi. Additionally, taxis and autorickshaws are readily available from Vandavasi town.

The ideal time to visit is between October and March. During these months, the weather remains pleasant and comfortable.
