Dedicated bus services for women, senior citizens and a boy
To facilitate dedicated transport to specific people, two state governments initiated different bus services in two different incidents.
While the first one was launched in Assam, another incident took place in Odisha.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal yesterday launched exclusive free bus service for women and senior citizens. He flagged off 25 pink buses under Bhraman Sarathi Scheme to facilitate free transport service for women and senior citizens across Guwahati.
These buses will ply in five routes for the commuters. This Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC)’s service will help them to travel secure and comfortable.
In another incident, the authorities in Odisha agreed to change the timings of a bus service for a schoolboy to help him reach the school on time.
The boy uses Mo Bus service to reach his school in Bhubaneswar. The Mo Bus is modern bus service as part of Capital Region Urban Transport’s (CRUT) programme of the Odisha government.
While the boy has to reach his school by 7:30 a.m., the first bus from his region departs at 7:40 a.m. As a result, he has to reach the school late daily due to which he is facing many troubles.
Hence, he mentioned his problem on Twitter tagging CRUT and its Managing Director. He requested them to help him by changing the timings of the bus service. They responded and assured him change the bus timings for the boy so that he can reach his school on time.
The MD of CRUT, Arun Bothra in reply to the boy, tweeted that the first bus timing would be changed to 7:00 a.m. from Monday for the boy.
Many netizens applauded the response. They expressed their happiness on the decision of CRUT.
