Uddhav Thackeray takes oath as Maharashtra CM
As decided Uddhav Bal Thackeray was sworn-in as the 18th chief minister of Maharashtra yesterday evening.
He is the first of his clan to be the chief minister of Maharashtra. Uddhav’s father Bal Thackeray founded the Shiv Sena in 1966.
Since then, the party has been active in Maharashtra politics. Even though two of its leaders had become chief ministers, none of his family members became chief minister.
Uddhav Thackeray formed the government with the alliance of NCP and Congress. Six other leaders from Shiv Sena also took oath along with Uddhav.
After the oath-taking ceremony as the 18th Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav had a cabinet meeting where certain decisions have been taken.
Uddhav Thackeray announced to allot ₹20 crores for the development of Raigad after swearing-in as the CM of Maharashtra.
Raigad was the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Uddhav said that his government would be the common citizen’s and there would not be an environment of fear.
He assured to help the farmers in the best possible way by providing concrete help.
He said that his government wants to make them happy. He added that farmers have not got anything except assurances till now. But, his government would work for them in a better way.
He would make the decision regarding farmers after getting the necessary details from the authorities.
The Common Minimum Program (CMP) of the Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena promised the farmers a loan waiver with an immediate effect.
His government would also improve the jobs to the local residents as the quota would be increased to 80 per cent.
There is also a proposal to set up one rupee clinics in the state to provide basic health screening to people.
Reacting to the comment of Devendra Fadnavis, he said that his cabinet was for the whole state of Maharashtra including Marathwada, Vidarbha, and Northern Maharashtra.
