India’s burgeoning space capabilities have caught the attention of experts from the United States, who expressed interest in collaboration after witnessing the development of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft.

ISRO Chairman S Somanath revealed this matter. He emphasized the changing landscape, highlighting India’s prowess in device and rocket manufacturing due to the government’s initiative to open the space sector to private enterprises.

Somanath underscored India’s remarkable knowledge and intelligence, labelling the nation as a powerhouse in space technology.

He revealed that during the Chandrayaan-3 project, experts from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory were invited to witness India’s innovation.

The collaboration left a strong impression, with the NASA-JPL experts commending India’s scientific instruments’ quality and cost-effectiveness. They even suggested that India could consider exporting these instruments to the United States.

Somanath noted the evolving landscape of the space sector, encouraging collaboration beyond ISRO.

He highlighted the emergence of private space companies in India, such as Agnikul in Chennai and Skyroot in Hyderabad.

These companies are actively engaged in rocket and satellite development. This diversification in the space industry empowers the nation to harness its full potential.

India’s space journey has been one of dreams realized. Somanath shared how Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon, inquired about sending an Indian astronaut to the lunar surface.

He urged the audience to dream while awake, as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam advocated, emphasizing the nation’s aspirations to explore the Moon further.

Somanath concluded with an inspiring vision, stating that at the launch of Chandrayaan-10, India envisions sending one of its own, likely a woman astronaut, to the Moon.

This announcement was met with cheers, underlining the nation’s unwavering commitment to space exploration and innovation.

India’s journey in space technology has not only piqued the interest of global experts but has also ignited a national passion for dreams beyond the stars, fostering innovation and cooperation in the emerging space frontier.
