Most influential women to be listed by government | Fusion - WeRIndia

In order to create a list of a hundred women across the country who have made a lot of influence to their communities, the women and child development (WCD) ministry has collaborated with Facebook. This statement was released by an official release on Tuesday.

The most influential women would be nominated by the ministry’s Facebook page. Once the list has been made based on the number of recommendations, they will be short listed and put forth a jury. The jury will select the best among the recommendations and make a list of these 100 women. The initiative would be launched on July 15.

WCD Minister Maneka Gandhi has written to actor Amitabh Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli and asked them to support this initiative. She asked them to help increasing increase the reach of the campaign. These celebrities are asked to nominate someone they believe have created a distinction in other people’s lives.

The women are going to be hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee on January 22, 2016. It is to be noted that this is the day when Prime Minister had launched the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” programme this year.

If an individual wants to submit their nomination they can visit the ministry’s Facebook page between July 15 and September 30 and fill up the nomination form.
