Step-by-step guide to check your name on the voter list
As the Assembly elections in some states like Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand etc., are approaching, many voters are checking their names on the voter list.
Here is a step-by-step guide to check your name on the voter list. If you find any errors in your voter ID, you can get them changed if you find them in advance.
First, visit the National Voter’s Service Portal of India. Sect the Search by Details tab, and fill in all details like your name, date of birth, and other required information. Enter the Captcha code and click on the Search option. Your name will be displayed if it is on the voter list. If you do not find it, contact the Electoral Office and inform the authorities about this.
You can also find your name on the voter list using the EPIC number with the following steps:
- After visiting the website, click on the Search by EPIC Number tab. You can find the option just beside the Search by Details tab.
- Enter your EPIC number and select your state. Click on the Search button after entering the Captcha code in the space given.
If you want to check your name on the voter list using a Helpline number, follow the below-mentioned procedure:
Open the message section on your mobile phone and type EPIC. Type your voter ID card number and send this message to 1950. 1950 is a Voter Helpline Number to solve issues related to the electoral process like voter registration.
If your name is on the list, you will receive a reply message with your name and polling station number when you send SMS to 1950. On the other hand, if your name is not on the list, you will receive a message saying that no record is found. If you do not find your name, contact the nearest Electoral Office.
