Independence Day Special – Submit videos singing National Anthem
As India is celebrating 75 years of independence on August 15, the government started a unique initiative, Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, to commemorate it.
The government called upon people to submit videos of them singing the national anthem to live telecast in Independence Day celebrations.
The government shared a video on MyGov India, its official YouTube page. In the video, ‘Let Us Sing The National Anthem’, complete details are given about the initiative and how people can participate.
Participants will get a chance of getting featured in a new song composed by one of the top music composers.
Any individual or group can upload their video after registering on the website: https://rashtragaan.in/. Then, they have to select their preferred language and fill in a form with basic details like name, age, state, and country. After that, they can record the video and upload it.
All participants will get a certificate on completion of the process. Besides, 100 videos will be selected to be launched on various media like TV, Radio etc., and on different social media platforms like YouTube.
Several popular celebrities like Olympic medalists are encouraging citizens to upload their videos by singing the National Anthem together.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Mann Ki Baat on July 25, announced this initiative. A website, Rashtragan.in, was also created to encourage a maximum number of citizens to sing the National Anthem together.
The initiative is taken by the government, to encourage people actively in Independence Day celebrations. Due to the pandemic, many states are imposing restrictions on gatherings of people. In this context, to encourage more people to participate in the event and to instil unity among citizens, the government launched this initiative.
