Maharashtra issues new COVID-19 Travel guidelines
To control the increasing number of cases in the state, the Maharashtra government issued new travel guidelines.
Those who want to visit Maharashtra should have to note the following norms:
All passengers at airports shall be screened thermally. All domestic passengers arriving from Delhi, Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan, and Kerala to Maharashtra have to submit an RT-PCR negative test report, done 72 hours before landing in the state. Train passengers will have to get their test done 96 hours before arriving in Maharashtra. Those who do not have the RT-PCR test report shall have to undergo the test at their own expenses.
If any domestic or international passenger arriving at any of the airports found symptomatic, they shall have to undergo the COVID-19 test at their expenses. The cost of the test is ₹850. If passengers are tested negative, they will be allowed to continue their journey. On the other hand, if they are tested positive for COVID-19, they will have to go for institutional quarantine in Mumbai.
All asymptomatic passengers will have to undergo 14 days of home quarantine. However, if they have an onward or returning journey within seven days, there will be no quarantine. They have to show their onward/return journey ticket for this.
Besides, all passengers will have to download the Aarogya Setu application. They have to provide their contact details to get the test results.
Passengers arriving from Maharashtra to Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Assam have to submit their latest COVID-19 report. If they do not submit the report, they will have to get the test done at their own expenses in Indore. If they are tested positive, they have to undergo home quarantine until they are free from COVID infection.
