Get a pothole fixed or get paid
Potholes are the bane of many road travelers.
They cause many road accidents and even spine problems. If you are living in Bengaluru, you will no longer have to silently curse at them.
The officials have announced a new upcoming system to help get rid of these potholes. An app is set to be launched to fix potholes in a simple way.
All one has to do is click a picture of the pothole and upload it on the app.
Thinking that this sort of stuff doesn’t work?
Hold that thought, if the pothole is not fixed in the next 48 hours of being snapped, then you will get ₹100.
So, you either get the pothole fixed or get money. It’s a win-win.
And the best part about this is that the money you get will be deducted from the officials who failed to act.
This innovative initiative is by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.
With this, they want to make more engineers and official workers be accountable for the work they do.
N. Manjunath Prasad, BBMP Commissioner said that this app will be made in a very user friendly way.
All the user has to do is click the picture and upload it. The GPS will automatically take the location and save it in the database.
The new system will also automatically send the photo to the ward engineer concerned.
The engineer has to fix the pothole and take a picture of it and upload it in the app in the next 48 hours.
Failing to do so will deduct ₹100 from the salary of the official who is responsible and send that money to the user who uploaded it.
This initiative can surely make the roads of the city much safer.
Its success might make it get expanded to other metro cities as well.
