Indian Navy Recruitment 2025 for SSC Officers

The Indian Navy has announced 270 openings for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala, Kerala.

Those selected will begin their training in January 2026. Interested candidates must submit their online applications by February 25, 2025.

These vacancies are available in several branches:

  • Executive Branch: 60 positions for General Service (GS(X))/Hydro
  • Pilot and Naval Air Operations Officer (Observer): 26 and 22 positions, respectively
  • Air Traffic Controller (ATC): 18 positions
  • Logistics Branch: 28 positions
  • Education Branch: 15 positions
  • Engineering Branch: 38 positions
  • Electrical Branch: 45 positions
  • Naval Constructor: 18 positions

Salary and Benefits


Candidates who are selected will receive a monthly salary of about ₹1,10,000, plus additional allowances and benefits according to government rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Each role has different age requirements. For example:

  • General Service (GS(X))/Hydro: Applicants must be born between January 2, 2001, and July 1, 2006.
  • Pilot and Naval Air Operations Officer (Observer): Must be born between January 2, 2002, and January 1, 2007.
  • Air Traffic Controller (ATC): Applicants should be born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2005.

Educational requirements vary by role:

  • Engineering and Executive branches: Must have a BE/B.Tech degree with at least 60%.
  • Pilot and Observer roles: Must have a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), if applicable.
  • ATC: Requires a BE/B.Tech degree with the required marks.
  • Logistics Branch: BE/B.Tech, MBA, B.Sc, B.Com, MCA, or M.Sc with first-class marks.
  • Education Branch: Requires M.Sc, BE, or B.Tech degrees with at least 60%.

Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their degree scores. Those selected will be invited for an SSB interview, deciding the final selection. Only shortlisted candidates will get interview details.

Candidates selected will need to provide proof of their degree completion with at least 60% marks before joining.

Probation and Training

  • SSC (NAIC) Officers will have a probation period of 3 years.
  • Officers in other branches will have a probation period of 2 years. The probation period starts when they are given the rank of Sub Lieutenant. Disqualification may happen if the candidates fail to perform well during training.

Eligible candidates must apply online through the Indian Navy’s official website by February 25, 2025. No other method of application will be accepted.
