Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Donald Trump on his election win. Modi shared some photos from their past meetings and said he looked forward to working together again.

He mentioned that their partnership could help make progress on peace and prosperity for both India and the U.S.

Donald Trump was elected as the 47th president of the United States, making a big comeback.

This is his second term, but he took a break in between—something only one other president, Grover Cleveland, has done before.

Trump got more than the 270 electoral votes needed, reaching 277 votes after winning states like Wisconsin. His opponent, Kamala Harris, ended up with 224 votes.

In his victory speech at an event in Florida, Trump told his supporters this was a huge victory for America. He said he wants to make the country “great again” and help it heal.

He also called his campaign the biggest political movement ever in the country, and perhaps in the world. His family, including his wife Melania, was there with him as he spoke.

Trump’s inauguration is scheduled for January 20. He emphasized that this win was a “powerful mandate” from the people. He described it as a moment like no other and said it shows the strength of his movement.

As Modi highlighted in his message, the renewed India-U.S. partnership under Trump’s leadership could bring both nations closer on key global issues.

Both leaders have previously emphasized the importance of strategic ties, covering areas like security, trade, and technology.

This shared focus could open new opportunities for collaboration in defense, economic growth, and environmental sustainability, which are priorities for both countries.

Trump’s win also signals a potential shift in U.S. domestic and foreign policy, with his promise of a “golden age” ahead.

With significant challenges at home and abroad, Trump’s administration faces the task of uniting a divided nation while balancing international relationships.

His return to office could bring renewed attention to areas like economic revitalization and national security, which could shape America’s role on the global stage for years to come
