What PM Modi should learn from Kejriwal
Most exit polls in Delhi have suggested that Delhi would be seeing a government of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Even the leading in seats since the beginning of counting clearly favours AAP. This victory is quite a landmark for the party which was comprehensively rejected in the parliamentary elections of May 2014. Another reason that this win is astonishing because the party had forfeited considerable credibility after it decided to shun its responsibilities after just 49 days in office.
Even after all this, and despite the fact that the party’s agenda is full of contradictions, people seemed to have given them one more chance. One of the main reasons for the winning of AAP is the collapse of the Congress government in Delhi.
If BJP does lose, it shows that it is time for Modi to reassess his government priorities. If the anti-corruption motto of AAP is still winning votes, then it shows that the government has left much to be desired.
It is recommended for Modi to limit the rabid elements of Sangh Parivar. Controversies like ‘Love Jihad’ are not helping them.
Everything that Modi had against congress led governance, Kejriwal did against Modi. Modi also likes to remind people of his humble origins. Yet, the PM who made suit with his name all over it could not anticipate this challenge from muffler-drape Kejriwal.
