Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s 67th birthday was celebrated on October 13. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was renowned in various genres of music including Qawwali, ghazal, classical, folk etc. His ancestors moved to Pakistan from Jalandhar, India. Though Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born in Pakistan, he has many fans in India. On the occasion of India’s 50th independence anniversary, his contribution to the song “Gurus of Peace” in the album Vande Mataram that is composed by A.R. Rahman is memorable. In addition to India and Pakistan, the major audience for this doodle is Sweden, Ghana, Kenya and Japan.
