Film making enthusiasts, here is a chance to prove your talent. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MOPR), Government of India, announced a short film contest with great prizes. Anyone who is interested, has to make a short film of 90 seconds to 180 seconds length. The film should be about the success story of a Panchayat(s).

The prizes will be given to those who present the best practices in Panchayats in the most creative way. The film can be submitted in any technical format in English, Hindi, or any regional language.

The last date to submit your entry is 30September, 2016. The ministry elects five films and gives them awards. The first prize is an award of Rs.7.50 lakh with the second prize having an award Rs.5.00 lakh. The third position will have three prizes. Each prize carries an award of Rs.2.5 lakh given to each winner. Furthermore, a certificate will also be given to the winners.

One can send as many entries for the contest as they want. Anyone who wants to apply for the contest must provide his/her identity like Aadhar Card, Voter Identity Card, PAN Card, Driving License etc.

The film should cover the theme of inspirational success story of any panchayat covering any initiative undertaken by the panchayat. There is no entry fee charged by the contestants.

When submitting the entry, one must provide a brief theme and synopsis of the film they made in less than 100 words. The film should also have proper credits and titles including the producer, writer and director, etc.

The winners will be selected by a Jury set up by the Ministry. The award will be given to the applicant only through a Bankers cheque or demand draft. The applicant is invited to Delhi to be awarded.
