Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 sets New Bollywood Record
Dhoom 3 starring Aamir khan and Katrina Kaif set a new box office record with its collections of Rs. 500 crore. Not just that, it achieved the highest-grossing foreign film of 2013 award in Australia. Dhoom 3 was the first Bollywood film to earn the award. The film distributing company Mind Blowing Films have recently held the award ceremony where Dhoom 3 was honoured. The ceremony was held at the 69th Australian International Movie Convention which hosted the annual Box Office Achievement Awards in Queensland.
Dhoom 3 was accepted by the director of Mind Blowing Films Mitu Bhowmick Lange and her partner John Molloy. Lange has stated that Dhoom 3 was the biggest release for an Indian movie that had opened in over 30 screens across the country and ran for more than a month. Lange has stated that the win by Dhoom 3 proves that the audience for Bollywood has been growing steadily. She has also stated that it is not just film lovers from India who enjoy Bollywood but also film lovers from many communities. The reason for this is due to Indian Film Festivals and the playing of subtitled films at most major mainstream cinemas.
